Depression…
Dark of mind,
Anxious of soul,
Labelled lost, alone.
Desolate, discarded, adrift.
Depression, anxiety, madness, tis said…
Nay not so.
Tis a double edge sword.
Mayhap the brimming cup of brainy prowess
Oft, a sadness much too much to bear.
Medicate they say.
Away with thee, I say.
Leave me to mine solitude
Leave me to mine respite
When my mind, a mine to trine.
My pen, my sword to wield.
Out with rapier repartee,
Alas too late, hours past the insult hurled.
No matter now,
Welcome nebulous nepenthe
Words soft to flirt,
Gently flow to ebb
Against the tide
…Til the next waiting wave.

And the lines, ‘Leave me to mine solitude
Leave me to mine respite’. You speak my mind.

Parikhit,
It is what it is.
Some days that is just how it is.
It WILL pass but when respite is needed, it is NEEDED!
… that needs to be respected and many people “do not get it”.

I smile because some people see as being cold. If only they knew the churning quagmire that is our thoughts and feelings!

I can so much relate with these….
As in, I can still remember those moments when I used to be under the dark curtains of depression. It was caging and draining.
Teens suffer these things more than almost any other group of persons.
But we are strong;
We are beautiful and smart;
We are TeenBeaty;
We can do this and shove depression aside.

That’s the spirit Elizabeth. Mental fortitude and resolution. Feeling really down, then speak to someone trustworthy. Its always good to have a shoulder to lean on. Now though, you have the blog and something amazing to focus on.

Oscuro de la mente,
ansioso de alma,
etiquetado perdido, solo.
Desolado, descartado, a la deriva.
depresión, ansiedad, locura, TIS dijo…
no es así.
es una espada de doble filo.
quizá la Copa rebosante de destreza inteligente
a menudo, una tristeza demasiado para soportar.
Medican dicen.
lejos de ti, digo yo.
dejarme a mi soledad
dejarme a mi respiro
cuando mi mente, una mina a Trine.
Mi pluma, mi espada para blandir.
hacia fuera con el estoque repartida,
alas demasiado tarde, horas más allá del insulto lanzado.
No importa ahora,
bienvenida nebulosa nepenth

Such sadness, yet it sounds so musical as I haltingly roll these words off my tongue.
Thank you for this. Really. Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture in another language, yet universally understood.
I love this post even more now.
