I love that response. Sea aside, when I get into the pool, I hear the movie “JAWS” signature music. When I am in the plane, I know they’re waiting to eat me. 馃槉
My family says that there is no hope for me. 馃槉 馃
I have never been to an ocean, but I do have a fear of water being more than waist deep. I was not familiar with that word, thanks for showing me something new. Hugs
Add to the yes list, especially when I think of places like the Mariana Trench, where if you drop Mt. Everest at the bottom, the peak would still be 1.2 miles below sea level.
I have it. Not only of an ocean, but of a sea or a lake. I learnt to swim, but cannot go anywhere where I cannot reach the bottom. No boat rides or ferries either. It’s not that I’m afraid of sea life, it’s thinking about the depth that makes me anxious.
Never met anybody with the same problem!馃
That’s a new one for me. Didn’t know there was a specific word for this specific fear. I’m scared of getting into a swimming pool too! A childhood near drowning incident did that to me. So generally, I’m scared of all water bodies that go above my knees 馃檪
That’s a great picture! I’m okay being on the ocean as long as I don’t think I’ll end up in it. So a big ferry boat is fine, but a small sailboat that’s heeling over in a brisk wind — no thanks!
I was on a ferry boat, seas were so choppy, I just stayed below, Fearing I would be tossed for fish breakfast. I saw 2 children below the age of 10 calm and playing cards. How I wanted to be unaffected like that. 馃檮馃槉

Can’t call it a phobia but I certainly don’t like the sound of oceans and seas….
