The Namib Desert; world’s oldest desert…
The Namib Desert covers more than 270 thousand kilometres on the coast of Namibia ashore the Atlantic Ocean. It has the highest sand dunes the world has ever seen, some rising to more than 1,300 feet.
Although the Namib Desert is one of the world’s most extreme environments it is home to more endemic species than any other desert in the world. The largest game reserve in Africa, Namib-Naukluft National Park, extends over a large part of the Namib Desert.
