Blogger Recognition Award

Dear All,

As a rule, I shy away from Awards but I was awarded “THE BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD” by Harbans.  A heartfelt thank you to Harbans Bhai for this Fabulous opportunity to bring recognition and awareness to some of the versatile and eloquent bloggers that I have been very fortunate to interact with.

Why I began my blog  :

I have a passion for words, books and am never without my pen and diary, something sadly not appreciated by LOTS of people. Once voted as the best poet in Natal, and my poetry published, my thoughts continued to gallop ahead more especially on the numerous family road trips. My friend Heather, was adamant, that I should write my book as I constantly regaled her and “my special people” with happenings from Sunshiny South Africa.  The idea took root, flourished and here I am now, with other very “special people” in the blogosphere.

Advice for new bloggers :

(a) Write, write, write! Write passionately and from the heart. Remember that your blogging platform sends out echoes to the world. This is your voice, your power to say what you mean and mean what you say. Send out those whispers to the universe, you WILL be rewarded.

As Shakespeare said, “All the world‘s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.”

This IS our stage, let’s make it a worthy one.

(b) “Failure is the opportunity to begin again, only this time more wisely”.  Every new day brings fresh opportunity. Refuse to let yesterdays’ ruin your todays and tomorrows.  Try and try again, it’s the little successes and small wins that add up.  To paraphrase  Frank Sinatra’s song, do it your way!
